Our top real estate and infrastructure indices

The GPR 250 Index is composed of the 250 most liquid listed real estate securities in the world. This, combined with consistently applied rules for company inclusion renders the GPR 250 Index a sustainable representation of the global listed real estate market. It therefore serves as both a performance benchmark and a suitable basis upon which financial products can be created.

The GPR 250 REIT Index is a subset of the GPR 250 Index and covers all companies having a REIT-like structure. This in combination with the consistently applied rules for company inclusions results in the GPR 250 REIT Index being a sustainable representation of the global Real Estate Investment Trust market.

The GPR General Index is the longest running index in our extensive database, with an inception date of 31 December 1983. The GPR General Index contains all listed real estate companies that comply to our consistently applied rules. This makes it our broadest index product.

The general principles of the GPR GLI Index are to capture companies engaged in activities that are 'mission critical' to the day-to-day functioning of society and the global economy. Company characteristics should include: high barriers to entry, high capital requirements, or regulation; predictability of cash-flows through regulation, robust long-term contractual agreements and dominant market position.
Companies must derive 75% of EBITDA from the following infrastructure groups: Energy Transportation & Storage, Communications Infrastructure, Transportation, Renewable Energy and Regulated Network Utilities.
The GPR GLI Index is designed to enable comparisons between listed and unlisted infrastructure assets, making it possible for investors to blend their infrastructure exposure. The GPR GLI Index eligible infrastructure sectors are based on the broader industry standard TICCS™ classification system.

The GPR Pure Infrastructure Index Series utilizes the purest definition on infrastructure by only including companies that derive over 50% of their revenues by facilitating the movement of people, goods, energy and information by owning or operating a real asset. With a broad exposure to regions and sectors, the index series provides investors the opportunity to further diversify, thereby improving the risk-return tradeoff within an investment portfolio.
The Quarterly Review is published on the first trading day of each quarter, focusing on performances and diversification.
